Fruiting Body Resupinate, consisting of tiny purple pimple like perithecia surrounded by a white to pale pink fibrous layer Smell Indistinct Taste Unknown, do not taste Season All year Distribution Frequent Habitat Parasitic on other fungi especially Piptoporus betulinus Microscopic Features Ascospores fusiform to lanceolate, spiny (20-38) x (3-7.5) µm2. Asci cylindrical, 16 spored. Conidia cylindrical to ellipsoidal, 1 to 3 septate (16-35) x (7-13) µm2. Edibility Inedible
